GOOGLE TO OFFER SMART GLASSES TO CONTEST WINNERS
Do you like this story?
Google launched its smart glasses to the public Wednesday and is giving more people a chance to pay $1,500 for a pair of the internet-connected glasses via a competition in which they are asked to outline how they plan to use the high tech gadget that the company is touting as the next breakthrough in mobile computing.
Google Glass is a wearable android based computer first of its kind, and it’s effectively a smart pair of glasses with an integrated heads-up display and a battery hidden inside the frame.
According to Google, the device can be used to take pictures, video, and show your friends exactly what you see through the glasses. It will obviously also take the place of a lot of functions that you otherwise need a handheld device for. For example, you can send a message by speaking it (similar to Apple’s Siri but without the phone), see directions without a GPS device, see answers to questions, and have your voice translated.
Checkout this videos to see how it actually feels through Glass.
